Police to strictly enforce firecracker regulation

The National Capital Region Police Office will maximize deployment for Ligtas Paskuhan 2022 with 1,369 police officers who will strictly implement existing firecracker-related rules and regulations.

Executive Order 28 and Republic Act 7183 regulates the sale, manufacture, distribution and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices particularly on New Year’s Eve to minimize injuries.

The public is reminded to be responsible and follow the designated firecracker display zone and community display area for the safety of everybody.

Police officers will be deployed to secure places of convergence as well as monitor the designated firecracker zones.

Estomo on Thursday reminded the public to be careful and follow the laws on fireworks and lighting.

“We will always remember that welcoming the coming new year is the happiest if we are safe and in good condition, loved ones and people around us” he said.

The Metro cops in consonance with the guidance of the Chief PNP, P/Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., they will crack down on illegal firecrackers that are harmful to the people.

They will also coordinate with the local barangays and village peacekeepers to ensure proper enforcement of the order and apprehension of violators.

Estomo also called all gun owners to be responsible and avoid negligence, blatant disregard of safety standards and indiscriminate firing to safeguard innocent lives welcoming the year 2023.

The NCRPO personnel were ardently warned not to use their issued firearms during this annual occasion, otherwise, they will face the strictest sanction.
