The Department of Justice on Monday revealed that it is seeking strengthened cooperation and collaboration with other countries in the fight against illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators and related crimes arising from their operations.
DoJ Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Atty. Jose Dominic F. Clavano IV stressed that the most important solution or approach is international cooperation as the government plans to solidify cooperation and collaboration with other countries.
“The crimes related to POGOs are vast and we realized in 2023 that this has an international aspect,” Clavano said.
The POGO-related crimes include human trafficking, illegal drugs, sex trafficking, corruption and it takes place not only in the Philippines, as Clavano cited that there is a need to go abroad to catch those behind the crimes.
