To better fulfill the growing demand for air travel, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) announced that on 14 January the airline had already begun using its recently acquired Airbus A320ceo under its damp leasing with Bulgaria Air.

According to CEB, the two 180-seater aircraft are set to fly twice daily between Manila and Cebu and four times daily between Manila and Davao from January to March this year.

The first A320ceo arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 from Sofia, Bulgaria on January 3, followed by another aircraft on 7 January 2024.

“We welcome these two aircraft from Bulgaria Air into our fleet, which is just one of the various measures we are undertaking to strengthen our operational resiliency. This addition will ensure that Cebu Pacific will continue to provide convenient, reliable, and affordable air travel to every Juan,” CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said.

With years of experience in aircraft rental, Bulgaria Air, the national carrier of the Republic of Bulgaria, has collaborated with airlines across the globe. A contract between two airlines known as “damping leasing” happens when the lessor provides the lessee with aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI).

In addition to these two aircraft, CEB will have a record 76 aircraft in its commercial fleet when the year begins, enabling the most extensive domestic coverage and more affordable rates.

The airline has been increasing its fleet this year, accepting delivery of 19 aircraft in 2023 and raising its fleet to 92 by the end of 2024.

CEB currently flies to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
