It seems like a Rivermaya reunion will be happening soon.

Local concert producer Live Nation Philippines teased on 31 October a five-second clip featuring blurred images of members Bamboo Mañalac, Nathan Azarcon, Mark Escueta and Rico Blanco.

The said show will be held on 17 February 2024.

Rivermaya, together with original member Perf de Castro, rose to fame in 1994 with their self-titled album.

De Castro left in 1995 just as when the members were recording the albums Trip and Atomic Bomb. He returned to his project band The Blues Trio, a band later renamed Axis until its final inception as Triaxis.

The band continued as a quartet with Blanco becoming the full-time guitarist, while Alfafara filled in as session additional guitar player on live shows for the remainder of the year. Eventually, he was replaced by J-John Valencia in 1996.

In 1998, Mañalac left Rivermaya after its American and Canadian tours. He formed his eponymous band in 2003. Blanco, meanwhile, left in 2007 due to personal reasons.

Rivermaya continued to rock the local music scene up to this day with Escueta and Azarcon and their longest-serving guitarist Mike Elgar.

Rivermaya is behind the classic OPM hits “Kisapmata,” “214,” “Ulan,” “Elesi,” “Himala,” “Panahon Na Naman” and “Hinahanap-hanap Kita.”
